Aris Dermitzakis holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Medical Imaging, from the University of Patras and the National Technical University of Athens. Building upon this foundation, he has focused his career on Clinical Engineering and Medical Technology Management. He is the CEO of the Institute of Biomedical Technology (InBIT), leading the Medical Equipment Management Unit, and serves as Project Co-Coordinator and Researcher at the Biomedical Technology Unit (BITU) at the University of Patras. He has experience collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO), contributing significantly to initiatives such as the "WHO Compendium of Innovative Health Technologies for Low-Resource Settings" and "Medical Devices for COVID." He has authored WHO reports on optimizing medical equipment distribution and procurement standards. As Secretary General of the Hellenic Society of Biomedical Technology and Representative of Greece for Clinical Engineering, he actively promotes clinical engineering standards and practices. His expertise encompasses health technology management and assessment, and medical devices vigilance, reflecting his strong commitment to advancing global healthcare technology management and clinical engineering standards. In academia, he contributes to the Erasmus Mundus Master in Biomedical Engineering (EMMBIOME) program at the University of Patras, teaching courses in Medical Instrumentation and Medical Imaging.
